Private commissions

A life, told through the things we keep.

Every Provenance & You book begins with a conversation.

Some are commissioned as gifts. Others begin while families are considering what they hope to pass on.

Questions we often hear

Before you begin.

Have a question that isn’t here? Please reach out.

Do we need antiques or valuable belongings?

Not at all. A favorite cooking utensil, a travel bag, or a letter kept in a drawer can tell us far more than an expensive possession.

What if we don’t know where to begin?

That’s part of the experience. We’ll help you identify a few meaningful objects and discover the stories that come with them.

Where do the conversations take place?

Usually in the storyteller’s home, where the objects are close at hand. We serve South Florida, with remote arrangements discussed individually.

Does the storyteller choose what goes in the book?

Yes. The storyteller reviews the written work and decides which memories and photographs may be included or shared.

Can more than one family member take part?

Yes, where appropriate. We can invite selected relatives to contribute memories or reflections, with the storyteller’s agreement.

Is the Family Record part of a will?

No. It is a personal-history service, not a legal document. Any wishes concerning the distribution of belongings should be addressed with a qualified attorney.

Let’s talk

Every story begins somewhere.

If you’re not certain which experience would be right, you’re welcome to begin with a conversation.
