A life, told a little at a time.
Some stories need more than an afternoon.
Living Portrait is a series of personal conversations held over a season or a year, giving someone the time to reflect, remember, and share the life they’re living. At the end, those conversations become a book.

A familiar conversation, continued.
We meet regularly, getting to know the stories behind familiar places, treasured belongings, and the people who have shaped a life.
One conversation might begin with an old photograph. Another with a recent family gathering, a childhood memory, or something that happened only yesterday.
There is no need to tell everything in order. Over time, a fuller portrait begins to emerge.
A record of a life still unfolding.
The conversations are carefully written and gathered into a book that the storyteller can read, revise, and share.
A portrait not only of what happened long ago, but of the person they are today.
Planned individually.
Each Living Portrait is planned individually, with the number of visits, length of the project, and finished book agreed upon in advance.
